This webinar was presented live on 11/28/2023 by MCASA's School Policy Staff Attorney. Title IX has undergone numerous changes over the last few years. In 2020, the Department of Education issued sweeping changes to the regulations, requiring colleges and universities to overhaul their policies on sexual harassment. The Department of Education released new proposed Title IX regulations in July 2022; however, the finalization of these new regulations has been subject to multiple delays, creating uncertainty about when they will go into effect. This training showcases the Sexual Assault Legal Institute’s (SALI) School Policy Staff Attorney as she discusses how colleges and universities can maintain compliance with Title IX during this transition period, while still supporting student sexual assault survivors. She highlights the requirements under the current regulations, as well as a look at some of the new proposed regulations and the impact these new rules will have on survivors.
