In a big setback to the faction led by Sharad Pawar, the Election Commission on February 06 settled the dispute in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in favour of the faction led by the petitioner Ajit Pawar. Celebration took over at Ajit Pawar Camp, as EC settled dispute in NCP. The poll panel has given the NCP name and symbol to the faction led by Ajit Pawar in a significant decision that has a bearing on the forthcoming polls. The decision was taken after more than 10 hearings spread over more than six months. Maharashtra Dy CM and petitioner Ajit Pawar welcomed the decision and expressed gratitude to EC for the decision. Meanwhile, NCP Sharad Pawar Faction leader Supriya Sule alleged an “Adrishya Shakti” behind the EC’s decision. Shiva Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi called the development “Sponsored, planned and executed by Central Govt”.
