Lolita Documentary produced by Daniel Azarian, featuring Dr. Ingrid Visser. Filmed in Miami, Summer 2013. Lolita, first named Tokitae, was violently torn away from her family and her natural world in 1970. Since then she has dutifully performed the same boring circus routines twice daily in the hot Miami sun. She has been alone since 1980 when her young adolescent male tankmate died after bashing his head against the walls and windows. Her very survival defies the odds. At least 40 other captives from her extended family, the Southern Resident Community, had perished by 1987, and yet she goes on, day after day in a tub she can barely turn around in. Her perseverance is a mystery, but she shows her amazing courage and gentle spirit every day. Undoubtedly she remembers her family who raised her and the world she grew up in before her capture. Does she believe she'll return home some day?
